From the television studio to the festival stage, Dunyazade Dance brings world dance traditions, original dance theatre, and culinary storytelling to audiences across the Bay Area and beyond — in collaboration with the artists, venues, and communities that make this work possible.
Kitchen Cabaret & the Dunyazade Dance Ensemble
Kitchen Cabaret is the live dance theatre segment of Dancing in the Kitchen®, featuring the Dunyazade Dance Ensemble in performance. Each Kitchen Cabaret set weaves together world dance traditions and original dance theatre — playful, inventive, and full of life. Filmed before a live audience at Hidden City Ballroom in Point Richmond, California, it is one of the most distinctive segments of the series.
The Ensemble also performs at Dinner & Dance Theater evenings at Hidden City Ballroom and at dance festivals throughout the Bay Area, where the repertoire draws more deeply from the living traditions of the Silk Road — Persian, Afghan, Central Asian, Turkish, and Romani dance.
Rehearsal classes take place in Sonoma County, Marin County, and Point Richmond. All are welcome to attend, whether or not you perform. Ensemble membership for Kitchen Cabaret and festival performances is by invitation, following an initial private session with Hannah.
Dancing in the Kitchen®
Dancing in the Kitchen® is Hannah’s original television series, filmed live before an audience at the historic Hidden City Ballroom in Point Richmond, California. Each episode blends healthy cooking, dance, cultural storytelling, and conversation with special guests — a one-of-a-kind culinary variety show where food, movement, and community come together.
The series airs on Marin and Sonoma public access channels and streaming platforms. Topics range from Alzheimer’s awareness and mental health to anti-inflammatory cooking, cultural food traditions, and food insecurity. Guest performing artists and local nonprofits are featured throughout.
Dinner & Dance Theater at Hidden City Ballroom
Hidden City Ballroom is also the stage for immersive Dinner & Dance Theater evenings — intimate cabaret nights that combine a beautiful sit-down meal with live dance performance, music, comedy, and storytelling. Guests are drawn into an atmosphere of enchantment, culture, and celebration, where the boundary between audience and art dissolves.
Hannah has been in creative partnership with Hidden City Ballroom since 2022, producing numerous evenings that blend world dance, dance theatre, culinary arts, and live music.
