Hannah Romanowsky, M.A. is a dance artist, choreographer, and cultural storyteller with more than 30 years of experience on stage, in the studio, and before the camera. Her work spans the living traditions of the Silk Road — Persian, Afghan, Central Asian, Turkish, and Romani dance — alongside Spanish dance, jazz, fusion, and original dance theatre works that draw freely across world traditions. Whether teaching a single student or choreographing for ensemble and television, she brings the same commitment: technically grounded, culturally informed, and fully alive in performance.
Whether you’re seeking to deepen your technique, train in a specific tradition, or join a working performance ensemble, Hannah offers a clear path from your first private session to the stage.
One-on-one sessions tailored to your goals — building technique in a specific tradition, developing a solo, preparing for performance, or taking your first steps into Silk Road and world dance. Private sessions are also the entry point for ensemble training. Available in-person (Bay Area) and via Zoom.
From spellbinding stage works to Dinner & Dance Theater evenings at Hidden City Ballroom, Hannah’s performances bring cultural depth, narrative power, and artistic precision to every occasion. Drawing from Persian, Central Asian, Romani, Turkish, and Arabic traditions — and the fusions between them — her work captivates audiences and honors living cultural memory.
Available for cultural events, festivals, weddings, and private celebrations.
The Dunyazade Dance Ensemble performs within Kitchen Cabaret, the live dance theatre segment of the television series Dancing in the Kitchen®, filmed at Hidden City Ballroom in Point Richmond, California. Kitchen Cabaret weaves together world dance traditions and original dance theatre — playful, inventive, and full of life. For festivals and cultural events throughout the Bay Area, the Ensemble draws more deeply from the Silk Road and world dance repertoire.
Rehearsal classes take place in Sonoma County, Marin County, and Point Richmond — and all are welcome to attend, whether or not you perform. Ensemble membership for Kitchen Cabaret and festival performances is by invitation, following an initial private session with Hannah.
